Volunteer Commitment Program Details
Volunteer Bond
Each family is to submit a volunteer bond cheque on your skater’s first day of skating for the season. The cheque is to be submitted in the amount of $250, payable to “NOTL Skating Club”, and postdated to April 1, 2025. The cheque will be cashed by the club if a family's volunteer commitment requirements are not met. Volunteer Co-Chairs Emma Thwaites or Danielle Spoor will be at all our sessions during the first week of skating for families to hand their cheques to and answer any questions.
In the case a family does not have cheques, we will accept a commitment to an e-transfer of $250 on March 15, 2025, if the family is unable to complete the commitment requirements.
Volunteer Commitment Requirements
As our club is a not-for-profit organization run by volunteers, each family's commitment to volunteer at our club is very important to the vitality and operation of our skating club. The volunteer commitment request this year, is that all families sign up for 7.5 hours of volunteering. The primary volunteer opportunity will be shifts at the CanSkate table. There will also be shifts posted for Assessment nights, special events, music room and our end of season Star Challenge / Program Showcase.
We ask that out of courtesy, families provide at least 1-2 hours of notice to skatenotl_volunteer@outlook.com if they are unable to attend a shift that they sign up for.
The ‘Volunteer Sign-up Calendar’ link above will be available soon with lots of opportunities to volunteer at our club throughout the 2024-2025 season. We will also email out to families to let you know when this schedule is posted.
If you have any additional questions regarding the NOTL SC Volunteer program, please reach out to our volunteer co-chairs at skatenotl_volunteer@outlook.com
